Biography Nefertiti is a professional belly dancer, instructor, performer, business owner and artistic director of Damali Dance Company based in Maryland and Delaware. She is the president of Nefertiti Entertainment and Production Company on the east coast. Nefertiti shares her passion and vision for the art of belly dancing by promoting dance through education and entertainment. Her style of dance is primarily Egyptian with a strong emphasis on Tunisian. Nefertiti is an accomplished Cabaret & American Tribal Style belly dancer. She continues her training with masters to perfect technique and understanding of the art. She is level 1 certified thru Suhaila Salimpour School of Dance in California and currently studies with Habiba of Philadelphia. Nefertiti performances are described as energetic, mesmerizing and hypnotic. Some have referred to her as the “essence of belly dance as a performer.” Nefertiti has performed for restaurants, festivals, galas, mardi gras, corporate events, universities and hafla's etc. She has been featured in numerous TV, radio and newspaper articles throughout Delmarva. Nefertiti was honored to join the dance company of Habiba of Philadelphia and perform for University of Penn Archeology and Anthropology Museum in Nov 2006. She has described this event as one of the highlights of her career. Nefertiti Entertainment and Production Co produces outstanding family shows on the east coast. The production company recently sponsored a workshop and show with Damali Dance Company at Salisbury State University. They performed for over 300 students and guest. As an instructor she gives clear instructions by helping her students understand what muscles to use to learn technique. She accepts students from beginners to professional and encourages each student to perfect technique. Nefertiti teachings have produced amazing dancers in Delmarva. She has worked and trained student who have won regional belly dance contest in 2006. Nefertiti is currently teaching several eight week courses in Delaware and Maryland. She has a series of Belly Dance Book Camp Workshops in Delaware and Maryland. She is a hands on instructor, giving each student individual attention. She seeks to encourage the beauty in all women that creates the mystique of the belly dancer. Damali Dance Company Nefertiti is the artistic director of Damali Dance. The company was formed 2 years ago by 2 students of Nefertiti. These students shared her passion for the art and wanted to spread the vision of Belly Dance by performing and educating audiences. Today the troupe has grown to 10 members. Damali Performing Company is based in Maryland and performs on the east coast. They have performed for dinner theatre, Universities, hafla’s, corporate events, galas, nursing homes and restaurants. Nefertiti and Damali Dance Company shows are high energy, diverse and exciting. Our family style production includes acrobats, clowns and musicians that bring to art to life. The company members are also experienced in ATS ( American Tribal Style), hula, ballroom, Latin and native American dance.
